The Golden Circle is a day tour full of history and culture. Some of the most significant events of Iceland's history have been centered around the locations found in the Golden Circle. The most notable of these historical events being the fact that Thingvellir national park was home to Iceland's parliament from as early as 930 which makes it the first parliament formed in the world.
The southern coast of Iceland is an area of dramatic landscapes filled with volcanoes, mountains, glaciers and waterfalls which are all beautifully framed by the famous black sand beaches found here. The south coast is home to some incredibly stunning sights such as the Reynisfjara beaches, the infamous volcano eyjafjallajökull and the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss & Skogafoss.
The snaefellsnes peninsula is the peninsula to the north of the reykjanes peninsula that Reykjavik is found on. This area of the country is often called "Iceland in miniature" due to the fact that many of the natural highlights of the country can be found here. The peninsula is home to black sand beaches, mountains, national parks, volcanoes and glaciers all in one location.
